Elgar Festival concert in
Great Malvern Priory
with the Worcester Cathedral Chamber Choir and English Symphony Orchestra
We sang Ian Venables’ beautiful Requiem, already a modern classic, in a powerful new version for choir and orchestra. In the first half of the concert, the English Symphony Orchestra performed Summerland by William Grant Still; Elgar’s touching and whimsical Mina; Visions of Piers Plowman by Michael Berkeley and Elgar's Suite from King Arthur.
