in the beautiful Lady Chapel we sang Britten's A Boy Was Born, Chilcott's Nova, Nova and Howells A Spotless Rose followed by arrangements of folk carols with Rob Harbron on concertina.

The Bisley Boy
Our programme included songs and dances that would have been played at Elizabeth's court, songs giving a flavour of Bisley and choral pieces inspired by the flowering of arts and literature in the Elizabethan Renaissance.
Accompanied by Richard Boothby (bass viol), James Opstad (tenor viol) Jonathan Tribe (tenor viol) and Jenny Tribe (treble viol).

Weekend services
The office of the High Sheriff is at least 1,000 years old. In the company of members of the Privy Council, Kent's Lord Lieutenant and many other civic dignitaries we had the pleasure of singing for the High Sheriff's Dedication Service in Rochester Cathedral as well as the Sunday Eucharist and Evensong services.

Psalms and Canticles

We performed the world premiere of Neil Cox's Requiem Canticles, (commissioned for our 70th anniversary, but actually performed in our 75th season) Allegri’s Miserere and Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms. Plus a pairing of Byrd's Ave Verum Corpus and Roderick Williams’ response to it: Ave Verum Corpus Reimagined.
With countertenor Tom Lilburn, Cecily Beer on harp, Laura Morris on French horn, Piers Maxim on organ, Jack Redman on keyboard and Anna Newman and Diggory Seacome on percussion.

Centred around the stunning Quatre motets pour le temps de Noël by Poulenc, our 2023 Christmas concert featured music by Byrd and Praetorius as well as Cecilia McDowall, Francis Pott, Gabriel Jackson and works by two of the choir’s own members: Charlotte Baskerville and William Armiger.
